A Course In Miracles

Aureoling

Beginning as a solved sudoku, numbers (pitches) are taken away with each pass of the music though the rhythm and the chords increase. After the 9th pass the 9 numbers are represented by the letters AUREOLING, further represented by a set of just intonation pitches. The second half of the music is the glow of the aureoling: recorder and bowed crotales with warm horn chords.  Released April 17, 2026.

This is what the piece is about, though the words are not sung:
‘Father, my home awaits my glad return. Your arms are open and I hear your Voice.

What need have I to linger in a place of vain desires and of broken dreams, when Heaven can so easily be mine?’

This Not Be - A Deepening

is a deeper view of my original work for 7 horns (This Need Not Be) now for 6 strings and saxophone solo with a larger set of harmonics.

The 'song' is played out 5 times. First with strings and the chords. Second with saxophone and extended just intonation chords in the strings.

The 3rd time is just like the first. The fourth is extended further with a few high pitches highlighted by a glockenspiel.

The fifth time we hear the melody played as in the original horn version.

Alto saxophone: Peter Leung     Violin: Veronique Serret     Violas: Marianne Yeomans    Celli: Anthea Cottee
